Ramadan; What Did It Leave Behind In You?

Belated Eid Mabrook to everyone!

The blessed month of Ramadan has left us. Though we are sad, but we are also glad that it left us as better human beings. Ramadan brings with it so much festivities where we Muslims rejoice in praying for Allah Almighty. Everyone makes a hasty effort to collect as many neki (good deeds) as possible as they can. It is not selfish to be hasty in this endeavor, for Allah loves those who want to please Him. Being away from my family and friends, they were all so near my heart, joined in prayer. We all were chanting the same words, looking at the same sky, heads bowed in prayers, reading the same Quran and thinking the same things. Ramadan is one of the beautiful times when all Muslims, regardless of their color, race, language, unite hearts. Such a glorious gift from Allah!

God: A Love Born of Faith

When do you know someone is listening to your prayers? When was the last time you knew the sorrow you carried in your fragile heart was incurable by every single doctor, surgeon or expert that walks on the face of this planet? Some things are granted by God alone. Like hearing the unsaid, like ridding your heart of fear, like giving you the strength of staying strong, like gifting you the courage to say the bitter truth, like holding your heart when it can easily turn cold, like holding you by your finger and it becomes your lifeline to sanity... like cradling you through nights no one knows you've cried. God and God alone lets you be the best you can be.

And likewise, some things only God knows. He gives you a protected life as a child, with loving parents who watch over you and protect you from all troubles. And when you grow up, God gives you one little bump at a time till you have wings to fly, till your faith becomes so strong you needn't anything else. God and God alone shapes you in the person you are meant to be by teaching you, showing you, loving you, testing you and then rewarding you.

My faith in people has been shaken not because people were untrustworthy, but because only one faith exists in this Universe and that is the faith in Allah. You and I may have different notions for what that Higher Being is but we all look in the same direction, we all look for the same faith, at the same sky. When my heart could turn icy cold, He held in in His Mighty Hands and kept it warm so many painful times. The thinnest chord that led me to Him was the strongest. He taught me, showed me, tested me and then, I believe, He decided to reward me. My heart blooms with His warmth. My faith in Him is my lifeline.

I wish you all a life of Faith, Belief, Love and Miracle that only God can create. Stay blessed.

"Love is..." is a famous comic strip created by New Zealand artist Kim Grove in the late 1960s. Later they were produced by Stefano Casali. These ubber cute series  began as a series of little love notes that Kim Grove drew for her future husband, Roberto Casali. Kim Casali died in June 1997. Since then, her son Stefano Casali has maintained the strip although it is always shown as "by Kim Casali" and signed "Kim" instead of Stefano.

"Love Is..." has been translated in many languages.

Hold my hand because I might disappear

I wonder how people can become small in the blink of an eye. Can anything ever be so big that you can just erase a person from your life like they never existed? (Besides something totally outrageous and unfair, of course)

How can you bring yourself to forget the time spent with a friend, a relative, a sibling, a special someone based on one mistake? Some times people make mistakes on purpose, for fear of losing, for fear of crying, for fear of falling apart may be. May be they aren't so bad and you would know, only if you give them, rather, give yourself a fair chance. Can you ask yourself to catch that single twinkle of a genuine sorry, a look that says, hey, I'm sorry I couldn't help it, I'm sorry things had to turn out this way but I couldn't tell... I couldn't see, I wanted you till the very last minute, 'cause you were special and I didn't want to lose a single moment.

Hold my hand because I might disappear.

I have yet to find out what exactly goes on into the mind of a person who decides to say a "good bye". May be I'm too young to actually comprehend the severity of a farewell. Or may be I'm old enough to know how to let go or better yet, forgive: Forgive like there's no "good bye" in this world. You decide.

Note: Just a little something I came up for a friend. She says she knows herself well, but there are some things she just gives up at. One being what this post talks about.
