The Artless Beauty

{i adore simplicity}

Respect a woman who wears her own skin and wears it well. She doesn't need fabrications or false colors, the one who is artless, guileless. Respect her because she bares herself for who she really is. She loves herself in the best possible way by the way she openly accepts herself, her looks and her gifts. Hold her dear for filling your life with colors you never saw before, with tenderness you never imagined ever existed. Respect a woman anyway, simply because you owe her for bringing beauty to this world! ;-)

10 Best Steve Jobs Quotes -- Fantastic Friday

Welcome to this week's edition of Fantastic Friday, where we talk about happiness and inspiration and everything that goes in between!

1. “Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn't matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we've done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.”

2. “The only problem with Microsoft is they just have no taste. They have absolutely no taste. And I don’t mean that in a small way, I mean that in a big way, in the sense that they don’t think of original ideas, and they don’t bring much culture into their products.”

3. You can’t just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they’ll want something new.”

4. Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”

5. “People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully.”

6. “Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

7. “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

8. “I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.”

9. "We made the buttons on the screen look so good you’ll want to lick them."

10. "It takes these very simple-minded instructions—‘Go fetch a number, add it to this number, put the result there, perceive if it’s greater than this other number’––but executes them at a rate of, let’s say, 1,000,000 per second. At 1,000,000 per second, the results appear to be magic."

A Girl's Wish List: Hair, Nails, Wardrobe and Bags!

{I so love kitties, sigh!}

So I'm jobless these days. What the heck. I am enjoying the craziest of routines I have ever had in my life. Staying up all night watching horror movies or something really crappy on YouTube, sleeping at the brink of dawn, (obviously) waking up late, only to resume reading a romantic novel I bought second hand. No, no, let me make this VERY clear I'm not a romantic-novel-girl. I detest them. Personally I kinda think they are silly, especially the ones in which the girl is excessively pretty and the guy is hopelessly handsome and all they ever wanna do is make love *rolls eyes* I'm too old to believe love is like that. I'm reading such stuff just for the silly fun of it. Mindless I am these days, mindless I tell you. My mind is on vacation and I'm in no mood for a serious job hunt. That can wait till the time I'm ready to give it my 100% devotion once more. I'm thinking a lot, day dreaming about the things I need to do once I take charge again. I can do all that even now, but the real fun lies in doing it all by yourself, on your own pocket. The feeling of being self sufficient and independent is amazing! It's like a habit. And if you happen to be married, it tends to become a bad habit. So here goes my top ten things I want to do in no particular order:

1. I want a brand new hair cut.I've never tried many different things with my hair because I fear damaging them. Girls out there would know there's nothing like what a totally new hair cut can do when she wants a change! So I have the most expensive place in my mind already (how vain!) because I want it leave it to the professionals to treat me to something divine!

2. Dye my hair deep burgundy. I don't even know if it will suit me or not, but hey, what's wrong in trying? If not a burgundy then a fresh shade of brown will do.

3. Change my wardrobe. Completely. From scratch. Yes I mean it. And yes, I want to have a brand new stock of high heels. Deep red shades, very sexy.

4. Nail Art. Found a girl who does nail art in Lahore. Don't know about the rest but she does pretty well. I'm gona get it done and yes, I'm gonna show it off on my blog and not worry if I seem cheap in any way *LOL*
(Psst... I have a lot of nail art ideas coming up on my blog, ladies. Stay tuned!)

5. Curl up my hair. It's what I've always and always and always wanted since I was a little girl. I have LOVED the idea of curly hair. Curly, burgundy hair? Sounds awesome, doesn't it?

6. Learn pencil sketching properly. Haven't seen my artwork yet? Click HERE to check it out and tell me what you think about it.

7. Completing my masters and I wanna do it the best way I can, acing of course. (I feel a little embarrassed coming to my masters part so later in this list!) :D

8. Write a book. Well, this has nothing to do with me having a job or not; and it isn't something I can get done in a few days either. This is a long term plan. No harm in adding it to this list anyway.

9. See the world. I wanna go see the world with the royalties my book will give me. Yes I expect the book to be a hit! ;-) Optimism!

10. Have a rocking website someday. I'll be one of those famous writers who have a personal website address given on the back cover :P More site hits for me that way! Oh yes, and employing SEO as well. Do you know I have lately crossed an all time hits of 100,000 on this site? Cheers!!

I know this all sounds so vain, so extravagant and I may appear to be just like any spend thrift. But hey, you will never get to be 24 again!! Okay so I'm not 21 anymore but what the heck... I'm not gonna be 24 either! Better enjoy it while it lasts, girl.

Have a (vain-as-boys-call-it) wish list? Feel free to blog about it and share one here too!
Pucker up to some girl powa, guys! ;-)

Weightloss Wednesdays -- Week 2: Walking Away

Welcome to this week's edition of Weightloss Wednesday, the little space that I use every Wednesday for all of us to help us with our weightloss journey together!
--

Taking walks alone is spending quality with myself. The weight loss comes as an added benefit! Today I will tell you some known tidbits about my love of walking as I see it.

re-posting this image; seems so darn apt for these series!

  1. Don't take your walk as a chore. If you do that, chances are that you'll end up quitting it sooner than you expect.
  2. I walk religiously for one hour. I give my legs ample time to get used to the movement since they have been lazing all day. First 15 minutes is just brisk walk. The second 15 minutes is sort of a buffer period where I try to push myself to walking a little faster. If my leg muscles still can't take up pace, I give them some more time in these 15 minutes and build up to it gradually. Once the last half an hour starts, I pick up the max pace that I can get to.
  3. Make a "Walk" playlist. Add all your favorite songs to it. The slow songs can be played in the start of the activity. Save the faster, louder tracks for the last half an hour. If you're having trouble building pace, use a relatively fast song that you enjoy and make an effort to walk to its beat. I used to play Please don't stop the music by Rihanna over and over.
  4. Water during walks? I don't have the right answer to this one. Can anyone help me with this? I've heard myths saying drinking while you're body is hot can give you a bulging tummy; I don't want to take the risk.
  5. Are you stressed? Depressed? That's no excuse missing out on your work out routine. Exercise of any form is known to help you cure those feelings. It even cures PMS. Do I see eyes rolling? *LOL* Go and google on this one. The web is filled with loads of articles on how exercise practically does wonders to your mind and body.

Walking is my greatest stress buster. It's that ONE whole hour I get to spend with myself and think over things in my life. The one hour I owe completely to myself when I can forget all errands, all chores I need to do, all tasks I have to run to one after the other. My family understands they can get by without me for one hour. It's a ME-Time and I'm thankful they understand it. I am going through an emotionally rough patch and I have been using physical activity to get over it. So for this week, it's just been walk for me.

My dad always puts it this way,
"Any activity is better than no activity!"
Let that be your motto ladies. It helps you go a long way in keeping it that way.

We all are here because either we have something to share or because we want to learn something. I urge you to participate in this post if you have anything informative and useful to share. Thanks a ton! :)

Weightloss Wednesdays -- Week 1: Get Motivated!

Yikes I have gained too much weight!!! Where did this muffin top come from?? How I hate it when I pose for pictures and have to delete so many just because I look like a sweet tooth fatty in each one? Grrrr!!! That's it. No more pitying your looks, no more fighting yourself over the calorie-loaded cup cake in front of you or resolving with yourself over how much sugar or cream should go into your coffee. It's time to take control!! Yes, I mean it!! I'm going to take charge, walk till I tire my ass off, and start eating fruits and salads.

Starting this week, I'm gonna share my weight loss journey with you in the hope that you find the inspiration to do it too and I find the motivation and pressure needed to keep going at it. Follow my new Weight loss Wednesdays series, where I'll sincerely share a new weight loss tip that worked for me in the last week. Your more than welcome to tag along and share your progress with me too. We can learn from each other.

"I need a strong motivation.
It's gonna be take a lot of will power!"

pun intended!

Seriously, what better motivation does a girl have than to BE SLIM? Girls wanna look good, no matter what the age. When they're sure they look good, it adds a boom to their confidence. That hold true for every person, no doubt about that. But there has to be more solid reasons than that in order to lose a large amount of weight and to keep it that way, health issues topping the list for sure! Here's my top five reasons that will keep me motivated.

5. To feel better about myself in more than one way.
4. So I can shop for anything I like rather than having to see what really fits me.
3. To be able to do cardio with a good stamina and feel great doing it! I love the feeling of being firm and strong.
2. To know that I'm in control of my body instead of the other way round.
1. To have a good heart and a good health and keeping it that way for many years to come!

I've been doing a mix of cardio and stretching for the past month. Initially, the weight dropped considerably without me having to cut down on proper, fair sized meals. Now it seems like I'll have to add more bits to it.

Be back next Wednesday when I update you with my experiments and tips. I will strive to bring something new to you.
