Blogger Dynamic Views Are Finally Here!

The much awaited change to Blogger's look and feel is finally here! And it is sure to compete with the likes of Tumblr, Wordpress and Facebook.

In Blogger's blog post published just yesterday, they have officially announced Blogger's new interface that promises to "bring you a much improved and modernized Blogger". Built with the latest technology, say good bye to old, boring way of reading a blog and say hello to a whole new experience in interactive blogging! And the best part is, being a blogger, all your old blog posts get front page attention too!

The new blogger is faster, more streamline, and user friendly. A couple of clicks here and there and all your posts from way back then loads in front of your reader in an attractive way that compels him to read more and more of your blog.

How to Activate:
To activate, follow the navigation: Blogger Dashboard > Design > Template Designer > Templates and choose "Dynamic Templates" in this section. Click the "Apply to Blog" blog to make your changes effective.
Try it out now and see dynamic views working live on your blog. On any time that you wish to revert back to all your old template, you can do so by simply clicking on the link "Revert to previous template" that appears once any dynamic view has been made live on your site.

Layout Options:
You get to choose from seven amazing, completely attractive ways to "share your blog with the world", as Blogger would put.

Classic (Gmail): A modern twist on a traditional template, with infinite scrolling and images that load as you go
Flipcard (M loves M) - Your photos are tiled across the page and flip to reveal the post title
Magazine (Advanced Style) - A clean, elegant editorial style layout
Mosaic (Crosby’s Kitchen) - A mosaic mix of different sized images and text
Sidebar (Blogger Buzz Blog) - An email inbox-like view with a reading page for quick scrolling and browsing
Snapshot (Canelle et Vanille) - An interactive pinboard of your posts
Timeslide (The Bleary-Eyed Father) - A horizontal view of your posts by time period

Making Dynamic Views work for you:
These dynamic views will work for you if:
1. Your blog is public
2. You have enabled your blog for dynamic views
3. Your blog feeds are enabled
If any of these is not true, then you will not be able to activate dynamic views on your site.

I'm really thrilled to use this new update to blogger for a number of different reasons most bloggers out there can well identify with. Template customization to these layouts are not available for now and Blogger promises this feature very soon. Once that's done, I'm sure there are many blogs who are eager to jump off to this next level of building readership on their sites.

The Connection Between Ariel's Red Hair And The Balding Prince -- None Really!

Don't call me weird but when I was a little girl, I dearly wished to be a mermaid. I was thoroughly taken by the red headed, free spirited Ariel from The Little Mermaid. There have been many nights when I used to pray as hard as I could for God to magically turn me into a mermaid when I woke up in the morning. I actually believed that will happen if I prayed hard enough. Why, I'll be so persuasive God will see how good I am and grant me this humble wish. Surely it will not be a big deal for him. And when I wake up and see that I have grown fins, I'll ask mama not to miss me too much and to set me free into the ocean. I didn't want to think about that part for now, it can be dealt with later. The more important task at hand was to live that free willed, free spirited life, and isn't that such a life demands sacrifices? Surely mama will understand and will move closer to the ocean so we can see and meet each other often. Realizing I had to have a Plan B, in case for some reason God decides not to turn me into a mermaid was to be, what else, but a human. That would be boring. But well, that was another way of being, wasn't it? I missed out being the lovely Ariel and meeting Prince Eric. Not to mention Flounder and Sebastian. Blah! I was crazy or what. Plan A was full of complications but was very rewarding; Plan B was easy, more natural to me and boring :/ No fish friends, no singing and dancing, no mane of flaming red hair, not having a father who was kind of the seven seas, no prince charming, (ahem). I was a sad puppy.

So where does this story lead to? No where actually, except that I got stuck on being a human and it turned out it wasn't so bad. Of course I had pangs of longing of being a mermaid till I was 13, but I eventually got over it. I grew up and tackled a few things and realized I didn't have to be a mermaid or a fish to be free spirited. I could do it right in my own skin and the way I was. It was just a matter of choice that always came with difficulty but was very rewarding. You shape yourself not by the color of your hair or anything you carry or wear. You define yourself simply by the choices you make in life.

Choose wisely!

P.S. Oh and have a Plan B, please. In case you mess up! Disney has this way of tampering with your child's ability to distinguish between real and absurd notions. You have been warned, parents!

P.P.S. This write up does not guide you into the How-To's of getting a Prince Charming. There aren't many. One of them is bald and already married, the other is hardly one for looks. Look elsewhere.

Bob Marley Quotes -- Fantastic Friday

“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around...

You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again... You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do... You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible...

You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.”
― Bob Marley

The Easy Way Out -- Sunday Scribblings

There is no easy way out of problems. The only right way is going all the way. Sometimes it costs you a hell lot of things, but then you must know, in the closing moments of the day, the only one left with you is your shadow.  The question is: can you face yourself after the choices you make?

So, even though there may be an easy way out for me, I'll take the longer route. I need to be answerable to myself at the end of the day. No regrets in life for life. Tomorrow is going to be one heck of a brilliant day. I'm gonna OWN it well!

"The Addams Family" Funny Movie Quotes -- Fantastic Friday

Welcome to this week's edition of Fantastic Friday.

The Addams family was originally a cartoon by Charles Addams. With its tremendous popularity, it has now become a movie series, a 1950s sitcom and even an animated film.

There have been television series cartoons on it too so every one now know the famous Addams Family. Everyone knows the Addams Family start up song that's now like an anthem to this whole series. The most appealing thing about The Addams Family is showing a traditional family which is anything but common. The dialogues are witty and outrageously funny. I think you'll find the appeal in just the quotes below.

Morticia: Don't torture yourself, Gomez. That's my job.
--

Morticia: Children, what are you doing?
Wednesday: I'm going to electrocute him.
Morticia: But we're late for the charity auction.
Wednesday: But, Mother!
Morticia: [firmly] I said no.
Pugsley: Pleeaaaase?
Morticia: [smiling indulgently] Oh, all right.
--

Grandmama: [to the family] Dinner's gonna be late.
[goes outside]
Grandmama: Here, boy! Here, boy!
--

Gomez Addams: [admiring Mortisha, who is sleeping] Look at her. I would die for her. I would kill for her. Either way, what bliss!
--

Wednesday: Please pass the salt.
Morticia: And what do we say?
Wednesday: NOW.
--

Gomez: [as he helps Morticia out of a trap] Leather straps, red-hot pokers!
Morticia: Later, my dearest.
--

Uncle Fester: Haven't you ever slaughtered anyone before?
Wednesday: He's only a child.
Uncle Fester: That's no excuse! Aim for a major artery. The jugular.
--

You might be interested in:

Gomez: Have no fear. The courts will decide. They say a man who represents himself has a fool for a client. Well, with God as my witness, I am that fool.
--

Wednesday: Nobody gets out of the Bermuda Triangle, not even for a vacation. Everyone knows that.
Dr. Pinderschloss: Oh, my little bundle. So much you don't understand. The human spirit, it is a hard thing to kill.
Grandmama: Even with a chainsaw.
--

Woman: What kind of powder does your mommy use?
Wednesday: Baking powder.
Woman: I mean on her face.
Wednesday: Baking powder.
--

Morticia: Gomez.
Gomez: Querida?
Morticia: Last night you were unhinged. You were like some desperate, howling demon. You frightened me. Do it again!
--

Gomez: What? Come on, Old Man, I've smoked since I was 5. Mother insisted.
--

Morticia: Wednesday, play with your food!
--

Girl Scout: Would you like to buy some girl scout cookies?
Wednesday: Are they made with real girl scouts?

How to Unclutter your Thought Process

How many times have you faced making a decision that was hard in nature, yet very much straight forward in logic and reason? Be it a hard thing to decide over or an easy one. A lot of how we decide has is affected by the people around us, family lives, circumstances and fears, real or unreal. The basic key is to taking it easy, but how? Let’s explore this.

Stop listening to everyone:
Many people will give you unsolicited advice, out of concern, out of curiosity, or simply out of needing to say something, the know-it-alls. Their intentions may not be bad in the first place, but what they are doing to you is giving you some fifty more ideas you can certainly do without when the matter happens to be logically simple. Listen to what they say but don’t feel obliged to follow what each and everyone has to say. Decide upon the people who have direct links to your life and who are affected by the matter in the same way or closely the same way as you. Decide who really matter. Try to look into the future as realistically as you can and see if you still see them possibly affected; if they still look affected, that will give you an idea of whether or not you should be listening to them or not and how much should you be minding them.

Keep emotions under a check:
Emotions lead to complications while being insensitive is also not the solution. A balance of both emotion and logic can ensure you can make the best possible decision without any future regrets. While presence of mind is most important in making long lasting decisions, having compassion for the people around you is not something you should completely ignore. Can you live with regrets forever? Then make an effort to find that balance between head and heart. Ask for divine help, whichever religion you follow, whatever god you worship. Faith is always rewarded.

Don’t over speculate:
I think too much, so much that eventually I give up trying to come to a conclusion in my head. Thinking well over a problem or matter is good. When you do, don’t let your fears and assumptions cloud your mind. Keep a clear mind. If you find yourself fighting off assumptions that are actually mere creations of your own mind, keep exercising that. Push your mind to create all possible scenarios and see them through to the end. See how each result affects you and what best suits you and those around you. If you are find it difficult to keep your peace of mind while doing that, take a break, do something you like or some favorite hobby, go for a short walk or just take a nap and rest your mind. Resume when you feel better. Take a paper and pen in hand and start writing all things that come to your mind. Make notes of how each point plays a part in the bigger picture, cut, cross, add everything on your mind. It’s a good way to see the points in an almost visual way.

You can't please everybody:
Your final decision might eventually hurt some people around you. It’s for you to decide how much of your decision is going to be compromised when you want to accommodate others. In most cases, you might want to look at it this way: everyone has his or her own life. They will be there for you when you need guidance and they will be concerned for you to make the right choices for yourself. But at the end of the day, they are living out their own life and you have to live yours. Have a firm heart. They might get hurt, but not for long. When, eventually, they see your decision was right for you, they will be content and won’t be hurt anymore. So don’t let this factor budge you off course during your thought process. People who love you will always understand.

You don't have to have everything your way:
Life’s not fair, face it. What you can do about it is to mould yourself according to circumstances thrown at you and try to make the most of them. But the best thing you can do is be happy about however it is. Stop waiting for a big happiness to come knocking at your door. Do that and you might end up waiting for life. Happiness is scattered all around us, in the smallest, strangest, quietest places. It takes an appreciative eye and an open heart to find it. True your grief must be great, but there are so many things left to thankful for. Take each day as it comes. God makes up for any injustice in life by giving you more of something else. Keep the faith! Don’t let the prospect of a future grief dampen your spirits today when you should be making a decision very practically.

I do envy people who can make decisions at the spur of the moment and stick to them like it was the best decision of their life. You cannot be expected to remain on your decision if you keep thinking over it once it is made. Do all the thinking once and for all, and once the decision is made, don’t re-evaluate its correctness. It’s past that time now. Practical life is all about making decisions and when you have kids, it just becomes a part of your everyday life. We should learn to decide for ourselves rather than have someone else think for us and control our lives. Good luck!

Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try... to fix you...

There must be a perfect love out there somewhere, the kind of love which leaps up into anything and everything for you. I'm sure it's not something out of this world, because there are so many people who have lived their whole lives together and have grown old together. I know at my age, things like love and life are totally overrated. And I also know that at my age, it's gona be just about one of these days that I'll wake up with a thoroughly practical view of how love should be lived in this life. I'll wait for that day when finally my mind will rule my emotions and it will all get easy.

Till that day comes, I guess I'll enjoy this joy ride no matter how absurd it gets. This is a 17 year old speaking from the mouth of a 24 year old: I know there's love out there, the kind that saves you from perdition and restores you to yourself. The kind that holds hands and closes eyes, the kind that leave love notes under the pillow and the kind that gifts flowers. The kind that kisses you to sleep and wake you to more kisses. The kind that makes every happiness worth while and every sadness seem as the passing phase it surely is. The kind that make you feel like a woman and a girl all at the same time, intimate, close and so very dear. There must be a rainbow for each and every one of us; may we all get to see our dreams with that someone special and not without one. You are beautiful to someone.

Good luck. Both of you.

Barbie Weds Ken -- What a Sensation!

What was the biggest sensation in my life as a little girl, except Cinderella and Disney? Barbie of course!

I came across these awesome photos on the Web one day while browsing through Glamour. Enjoy these photos, I hope they being out the little girl in each and every one of the ladies reading this article, like they have in me. And for the men, well, you can just sit and watch and think how there will be a woman in your life who will give herself to you so generously! Do I see side glances? :D

Enjoy people!

Super-talented—and super-creative!—photographer Beatrice de Guigne masterminded this ingenious photo shoot then captured it all on film over three days. I found the photos over on Rock n Roll Bride and just had to share them with you!

Beatrice told Rock n Roll Bride:

“Barbie & Ken were married at Faraway Castle, in Plasticity. The bride bought her dress from The Fairy Godmother shop and her shoes from the Cinderella Store. The groom wore a suit from The Prince Charming Emporium. The couple met more than 50 years ago (yes I know they look young). Barbie was tired of waiting so she asked Ken to get married.”

Seriously, how fantastic is this? Who else is impressed?!
