9 Simple Tips for Healthy And Growing Nails

Nails are just one of the places where you can show off your best, be it style, health, cleanliness or simply beauty. All of this is possible when your nails are healthy and thriving, only then will they be able to carry what you want them to be. Since nails are dead part of our body, we have to do all the maintenance for them. It is certainly not difficult. You can have cleaner, healthier nails by following simple tips, most of which can be accomplished through home remedies.

Check out a small set of our nail care tips and suggestions.

1. Wear rubber gloves when doing the dishes or when hands and nails are going to be submerged in water for longer periods of time. Warm water will make shiny nails dull and detergents can make nails dry and brittle, leading to easy chip off.

2. Healthy nails portray a healthy, balanced nutrition in take. For healthy nails, add foods rich in Vitamin B, potassium, iron and calcium into your diet.

3. Never file your nails when they are wet. This is the time when they are at their weakest.

4. Just as you moisturize your hands on a regular basis, make a habit of rubbing off some of it onto your nails and attempt to absorb it into them like you would normally do on your skin.

5. Always use a base coat before applying any other color or nail art onto your nails. It protects your natural nail.

6. Try having one or two days off without any nail color every week. Your nails need to breathe too! This will help having healthy nails and prevent your nails from de-coloring.

7. For pinkish and shiny looking nails, rub a lemon peel on them twice a day in circular motions.

8. To avoid dulling and decoloring of nails, try not to put on a nail color for more than a week. It's best if you can let your nails go bare without any color or polish for at least one day in a week.

9. For cleaner and, hence, healthier nails, do a home manicure at least once a month.
